

In addition to incourse tests and assignments, there are official examinations that are held at specific time during the semester.
Final Examinations for Semester 1 are held in December, for Semester 2 in April/May and for the Summer Sessions in August.
Examination Timetables are usually posted in advance of the examinations and colour-coded Examination cards are distributed prior to the examination periods. Only candidates in good financial standings will receive cards that wil allow for the sitting of examinations. Lost or misplaced examinations cards will be replaced at a cost of $300.00.
An Examination Receipt is issued to a candidate upon submission of an exmaination script or other piece of work assessment given by a facilitator that will contribute to a module grade.
In order to pass a course, a student must have been in satisfactory attendance at the course and must have satisfied the examiners in the associated examinations.
Candidates sitting written examinations are not allowed to bring any books or papers of any kind into the examination room. No pencil cases, calculator cases, wallets or purses, headgear, large coats or any similar items are allowed in the examination room. Cellular phones are not allowed in the examination room. Failure to comply will result in the candidate’s disqualification from the examination and exclusion from all future examinations of the Institute.
Candidates must display on their desks, their MTI/UTech/IUC Identification Card and their Examination Cards.
No candidate is allowed to leave the examination room before 45 minutes of the examination.
Candidates are not allowed to remove from the examination room or mutilate any paper or other material supplied.
If any candidate falls ill and is unable to sit an examination, a medical report from a qualified and registered medical practitioner should be submitted to the Administrator within two days. Medical reports which simply state, that the student was unfit for work/school on a particular day/s will not be accepted. Kindly bring this to the attention of your medical practitioner.
All candidates must sit and attempt all examinations. The failure of any candidate to sit his/her examination will result in that candidate, sitting the subject in the next round of examinations. Such candidate who performs satisfactorily will receive a Pass grade in the subject.
Any Degree/Diploma candidate who fails a subject in an examination at the first sitting, will be given a Supplemental examination in the subject, and if perform satisfactorily will receive a pass grade in the subject.
Official Examination results will be posted on the students notice board using the students identificiation numbering system.
